Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, Assembly Equipment

 

Do you get energy from working in a multi-disciplinary team turning your ideas into real systems? Do you want to be the Mechanical Design Lead driving the development of mechanical designs for our high-speed pick & place assembly equipment?

We are expanding our high-speed die bonding and die sorting equipment portfolio to serve new market segments in semiconductor assembly. The R&D team is designing and developing new modules and systems that will subsequently be developed, assembled, tested and released for series production.

 

What you will do

  • Act as mechanical lead in the multidisciplinary project team for our building blocks and our high performance semiconductor assembly equipment.
  • Define mechanical concepts and make the global designs until final customer acceptance. This includes ownership of mechanical discipline deliverables such as mechanical design, simulation (FEM), hands-on testing, effort estimation, cost of goods tracking.
  • Coach design engineers and technicians (3 FTE’s) in detailing the design, assembly, integration & testing/de-bugging/operating equipment.
  • Document related design specifications and other outputs including manufacturing and user instructions (manual).

 

What you will need

  • Master or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience of mechanical design in either semiconductors or in a high-speed equipment environment.
  • Experience in mechatronic systems, actuators, dynamics or control engineering is required.
  • Full project lifecycle knowledge or (V-Model) knowledge or experience.
  • Experience in using Siemens NX (3D CAD) or similar.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English
  • Mature, an innovative mindset, analytical skills, a solution & hands-on oriented attitude.
  • A team player with the ability to work independently in a cross functional international team.
