02/17/12 TULiPPS wins Solar Innovation Award for “out-of-the-box” thinking
TULiPPS Solar has won the 2012 Dutch Solar Innovation Awards in the Industrial Development category. Organized by Dutch Solar Magazine, the Dutch Solar Awards is a juried competition designed to showcase the best of the Netherlands’ solar energy sector by recognizing innovation in several awards categories. The Industry Development category recognizes a company that excels in achieving an industrial innovation (realized in calendar year 2011) that advances the progress of industry and the solar market on a global scale.
01/27/12 TULiPPS reveals test results on 500Wp PV prototype
Prototype solar modules demonstrate exceptional break resistance in exploratory testing
TULiPPS Solar today revealed the findings of exploratory testing on their 120-cell/500-Wp prototype COSMOS solar photovoltaic (PV) modules. Independent solar-module testing and certification organization Kiwa conducted exploratory testing of two 120-cell/500-Wp prototype modules. The TULiPPS prototype PV modules differ from typical commercially used modules, not only for their unusual size and design features, but moreover because of the use of ultra-thin, ultra-clear toughened solar glass.
12/20/11 TULiPPS first to use ultra-thin, single-layer solar glass in PV modules
TULiPPS Solar today announced the usage of 2-mm/0.08 inch, single-layer toughened solar glass from Ducatt in its PV modules. Produced via a patented tempering process developed by LiSEC Group, this ultra-thin ultra-clear glass provides frameless COSMOS™ solar modules from TULiPPS with increased break resistance, light transmittance, and energy-generating efficiency/unit area while also reducing module weight and overall costs (Watt-peak installed). Owing to TULiPPS’ own patent-pending frameless module design, it is the first company able to take full advantage of the significant benefits of the special Ducatt glass produced on LiSEC tempering equipment that has the potential to significantly change how solar modules are built and their capacity to generate energy.
12/16/11 TULiPPS Solar nominated for Dutch Solar Innovation Awards
Winners to be Announced in Mid-February 2012
"With a significant amount of the world’s solar photovoltaic (PV) modules currently being produced on Dutch equipment", notes Paul Stassen, TULiPPS Solar B.V. managing director, "the Netherlands are well represented in the world of solar. That’s why we’re so excited to learn that TULiPPS Solar was one of three companies nominated for the 2012 Dutch Solar Innovation Awards in the Industrial Development category. It’s a really big honor for any company to be nominated in this competition, and it is especially exciting for a startup like ours".
10/10/11 TULiPPS announces development of new 500 Wp solar PV modules
TULiPPS Solar B.V. today announced the development of a new 500 Wp Solar PV Module. The 500 watt-peak (Wp)/120-cell solar photovoltaic (PV) module is 60% larger than industry-standard 280 Wp/72-cell cell modules, will be more energy efficient, and tougher yet weighing the same as conventional aluminum-framed systems. When the 500 Wp unit becomes commercially available next year, it will be the industry’s largest standard PV module (at 1.98 x 164m/6.5 x 5.4 ft) as well as the industry’s largest-capacity standard PV module.
