04/02/12 Eye Surface Profiler
The Eye Surface Profiler has been presented to the public at the NCC 2012 (Dutch Contact Lens Congress) in Veldhoven, the Netherlands. After more than a decade of research, the MST Corneal topography project has been picked up by the company Eaglet-Eye. Based on the research already done by MST, Eaglet Eye continued development on the project along with Sumipro. The Eye Surface Profiler is the final result and features an innovative way of measuring the surface of an eye. The privately owned medical devices company Eaglet-Eye will bring the Eye Surface Profiler to the market.

01/06/12 HMD Eurofighter optics by Sumipro
Eurofighter Typhoon is one of the world’s most advanced new generation multi-role/swing-role combat aircraft available on the market. With 707 aircrafts ordered by six nations(Germany, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Austria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) and in service, the aircraft is Europe’s largest military collaborative programme. The Head Equipment Assembly (HEA) comprises the aircrew helmet and all the sub-system elements needed to display a real world overlaid picture on the helmet visor. Aircraft systems provide target and flight information which the HEA can combine with its in-built night vision enhanced outside world image and project them together on to the helmet display visor, exactly overlaying the aircrew’s outside world view by means of a high speed helmet tracking system.
11/23/11 Dutch Sigma Presents: Optical Precision Scanner
Dutch Sigma has developed the Optical Precision Scanner (OPS); an optical non-contact measurement scanner that can be fitted directly to any CNC milling or lathing machine. It is specifically designed by Dutch Sigma to measure large parts of up to 2m⊃3; with high precision (> 10 micron). It is also capable of calibrating high quality milling/lathing machines. Unlike touch probe CMM’s, the OPS does not come in contact with the work piece; and thus cannot make scratches or impair surface tolerances. A built-in temperature sensor allows the OPS to operate on the shop floor without losing accuracy.
01/09/11 MST Corneal Topography
Sumipro offers you a completely new way of corneal topography that fits in with the current digital age. The measuring of the human eye has a long history. The first rapports of systematic measurements date from 1728 (Petit). Before that it was known however that by looking at the reflection of objects on the cornea, it was able to deem its quality. Hereby the cornea is used as a spherical mirror. In 1836 Kohlrauch came up with a different approach. By using two objects to show up on the cornea it is possible to determine the curvature radius. Thanks to this idea, the instrument known as a Keratometer (Keratos is Greek for cornea) was invented in 1854 by Helmholtz.
08/17/11 Sumipro delivers HIFI optics for Herschel
The mission: The European Space Agency’s Herschel Space Observatory has the largest single mirror ever built for a space telescope. At 3.5-metres in diameter the mirror will collect long-wavelength radiation from some of the coldest and most distant objects in the Universe. HIFI The Herschel science payload comprises three instruments that perform a combination of spectrometry, imaging spectrometry and imaging photometry covering a wavelength range from 55 to 672 μm. One of them is the Heterodyne Instrument for the Far Infrared (HIFI). It is a very high-resolution heterodyne spectrometer. The heterodyne detection principle involves translating the frequency range of the signal observed by the telescope to a lower frequency where it is easier to perform the required measurements.
