On its NAB booth (N4624), Netherlands-based modular AV signal processing specialist, Axon Digital Design, showcased a number of extensions and additions to its product range. Significant new developments were exhibited in its Cortex broadcast workflow control software application, new loudness control solutions and a highly cost-effective variant of its industry-leading Synapse AV signal processing modules.

10/02/12 WWNY-TV selects AXON multiviewer and video logger

AXON has been selected by US-based WWNY-TV, to provide SynView multiviewing equipment and TRACS2 video logging/ air check device for their master control room. WWNY-TV, based in Watertown, is the CBS-affiliated television station for Upstate New York's North Country region and is owned by the United Communications Corporation. The station signed-on October 22, 1954 as the first Watertown-based television station. “We have selected the SynView equipment because its simplicity of configuration”, says John Seymour, Director of Broadcast Operations.

Axon Digital Design has teamed with Civolution, the leading provider of technology and solutions for identifying, managing and monetizing media content, to integrate digital watermarking for audience measurement and 2nd screen synchronization capabilities into its Synapse product line. AXON Modular Processors Used Within Critical Live OB Environment for International Games in Russia

AXON Digital Design has been selected by ANO Sports Broadcasting (Panorama) to provide Synapse modular processing equipment for a fleet of Outside Broadcast (OB) trucks.
The fleet will be used as part of a massive new broadcast infrastructure project being built to enable millions of viewers in Russia to watch the XXII Winter Games and the XI Winter Paralympic Games in Sochi in 2014, as well as the XXVII World Summer University Games in Kazan in 2013. AXON modular processors will be used in a broad range of applications with the OB vehicles, including the up-conversion, down-conversion and cross conversion of 3G signals. DutchView, the leading multimedia broadcasting company in the Netherlands, has chosen AXON’s Synapse modular system for its new 3D OB van. This OB van should hit the road in November 2011. The OB van is not only designed for 3D but is also fully equipped to handle 1080P on 3Gb/s connections. For DutchView, this OB van is an addition to the existing fleet of 7 fully-equipped OB vans and 14 studio facilities. The equipment includes Synapse 3Gb/s embedders, de-embedders, frame syncs, up converters and down converters. A large portion of the equipment consists of the Synapse TWINS modules.
